TRAVELLING IN TANZANIA

The best thing about Tanzania is that tourism is a relatively new concept that has left the country virtually in its original state - this is real Africa in every sense. This manifests itself predominantly in the wildness of the land and in the welcome you will receive from its citizens, but has no reflection on the quality of the hospitality services even when compared to its longer established neighbour, Kenya. Tanzania has been quick to capitalise on its natural treasures, with destinations such as the fabulous Ngorongoro Crater, the open plains of the Serengeti with its annual Wildebeest migration and the lofty summit of Kilimanjaro being top on any travellers list of places to visit.

Active Africa guides have had a long standing relationship with Mount Kilimanjaro, leading many successful expeditions on a variety of routes to her icy summits. Our journeys to Tanzania have taken us on treks in the Ngorongoro Highlands with the Maasai as our companions and into the wilderness areas of Lake Manyara National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater and into the Serengeti to witness the marvel of the Great Migration.
