ANNI MILLIGAN

AnniIf life was defined by the colourful characters one meets, then anyone who has spent time with Anni has experienced at least a few moments in blazing techni-colour. A crusty exterior and a no-nonsense attitude acquired from years of designing and facilitating bicycle experiences all over the globe hides a caring nature and sharp wit that, combined with an innate ability to anticipate your needs before you even know you have them, ensures that a trip with Anni is a journey to be remembered. This proud Zimbabwean started out as a Food Technologist before a spell in the fish factories of the Western Cape in South Africa convinced Anni it was time to travel. Eventually landing in Europe, Anni found herself at the door of a fledgling tour company that was pioneering bicycle vacations in Europe, somehow convincing them that her African accent could be passed off as Italian or French. Subsequent years at the cutting edge of the active travel concept, whether designing or guiding an experience, means that Anni is the most experienced professional in the Active Africa portfolio.

Although an avid world traveller, Anni's heart and soul remains in Africa where she has single handedly carved out a home in the hills of the southern Cape, retreating from the rigours of touring to farm proteas. Apart from an obvious gravitation to anything on a bicycle, a passion for the wild places of the continent means Anni also trained as a professional safari guide and has led expeditions both on foot and by 4 wheel drive through many African landscapes.
