OWEN MIDDLETON

The biggest problem you will have with Owen is keeping up with him - a veteran campaigner of trail runs and adventure races, he applies the same energetic fervour to his daily life as he does when racing across the wilds of Africa on some epic event. But don't be fooled by the "hard man" exterior - a youth spent exploring the bush and a diploma in nature conservation has nurtured a gently burning passion for African wilderness that is best revealed in the images he captures on camera. An instinct for being in the right place at the right time and the patience required for wildlife photography means this self-taught craftsman is a sought-after companion on any photographic expedition into the bush. An intimate knowledge of fauna, and of birds in particular, coupled with finely honed off-road driving abilities and accomplished bush skills means a trip into the wilderness with Owen is a life changing experience that embodies the quintessential African safari.

When not out on safari, Owen fills his time as a professional photo-journalist and operates his own successful trail running enterprise. The high level of organisation required in planning and facilitating these events are useful skills put to effect when planning a trip - as a skilled safari guide, accomplished mountaineer and qualified Dive Instructor, Owen has been arranging and guiding off-road expeditions, trekking holidays and diving safari's for the past 7 years.
